Over the past 25 years, she has transitioned from participant to leader, becoming the Koshland director in 1999. As Arnold Perkins, the former director of the Koshland Program, attests, Retha embodies the program's spirit: "She brings a light to whatever situation she’s in. No matter how gloomy, she brings light.”
